Static Website or CMS?
It used to be our recommendation that a static website was the easiest and cheapest way of setting up your first site. These sites are cheaper to develop but require a basic knowledge of HTML and FTP to maintain. Most static sites are updated by us.
CMS or Content Management Systems allow for greater control because you can update the content on the site using a web based editor.
Traditionally, the cost of a CMS based site has been quite expensive however as technology evolves that price has dropped.
Seja Design have worked with a number of CMS platforms over the years but now concentrate on WordPress.
WordPress started off as blogging software, designed to help people manage a simple online journal but is increasingly being used for a range of small business, corporate and government websites, and the best thing is that, despite its increased flexibility, it still remains one of the easiest systems to learn and manage.
And the cost of implementing WordPress is only marginally more than a static site.
